Al Badi'

Ibdāʿ is making something that had no pattern to copy — the root behind bidʿa, an innovation, and behind everything genuinely unprecedented.

The word appears twice in the Qur’an, both times as the originator of the heavens and the earth, and both times without the article this name carries — which is why the ayat below come up empty. It is a small spelling difference standing between the page and two of the largest sentences in the Book. What has no precedent cannot be predicted from what came before it.
