Al Qawiyy

Quwwa is strength in the plainest sense — capacity, force, the opposite of weakness — and the Qur’an uses the root of people as readily as of God.

Of the four ayat carrying this written form, two put al-ʿAzīz straight after it — strong, and unassailable with it. One is a woman in Madyan telling her father that the best man to hire is the strong and trustworthy one. The fourth is not this word at all but its plural, describing someone mighty in powers. Strength that never has to be demonstrated looks, from outside, a great deal like patience.
