Al Wakeel

A wakīl is the one you hand a matter to and stop carrying yourself. From the same root comes tawakkul, the handing over itself, which the Qur’an asks for far more often than it uses this name.

The one ayah carrying this form has people told that an army has gathered against them, and answering with a single sentence: Allah is enough for us, and the best one to entrust it to. The ayah is careful about what happened next — it says their faith increased, not their odds. Handing something over is not the same as giving up on it.
