Ar Rasheed

Rushd is soundness of direction — the same root gives the word for a young person coming into their own judgement, and murshid, one who points the way.

The single ayah carrying this written form is shared with al-Ḥalīm, the thirty-second of these names: one sentence, spoken to Shuʿayb by people who had just refused everything he asked of them — you are the forbearing, the right-minded. Two of these ninety-nine came into the list out of that one line. Words can be true in a mouth that does not mean them.
