Reflection

Jalāl is majesty in the sense of magnitude — the root also gives jalīl for a matter too weighty to be handled lightly, and jull for the greater part of a thing.

The exact form is not in the Qur’anic text; the name is carried by the list. The root returns near the end of it, in the eighty-fifth name, where majesty is deliberately not left standing on its own. Awe and fear are not the same feeling. The first one has room in it.
