Qūt is the amount that keeps a creature going — not abundance, but enough. The root appears exactly twice in the whole Qur’an, and both times it is about measure rather than plenty: once as aqwāt, the earth’s sustenance apportioned within it, and once as this participle, naming the one who apportions.
That second occurrence carries no article, which is why this page reports no exact match for the name. Enough is a real quantity, and it is usually less than we had planned for. It is also, most days, more than we noticed.
